AI Voice, SMS & Communications Policy
- Effective:
- March 2025
2. Consent (TCPA and similar laws)
Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and state equivalents, calls and texts using automated technology or artificial or prerecorded voices generally require the recipient's prior express consent, and marketing communications generally require prior express written consent. Customers must:
- Obtain and retain records of consent, including the date, method, and language shown to the recipient
- Use contact lists only from sources they can document, never purchased or scraped lists
- Respect quiet hours and state-specific limits on call and text timing and frequency
- Scrub against the National Do Not Call Registry, applicable state lists, and their own internal do-not-call list where required
3. AI disclosures and call recording
Customers must configure AI voice and messaging interactions to make any disclosures required by law, including that the caller is an AI or automated system where required, and must not represent the AI as a human where doing so would be deceptive or unlawful.
Where call recording is enabled, customers must ensure that required notice and consent are provided. Some states require consent from all parties to a call; LiveIQ recommends a clear recording disclosure at the start of every recorded call.
4. Opt-outs
Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP or using any other reasonable method, including common words such as QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or REVOKE, or by asking verbally during a call. A customer cannot contractually remove a recipient's right to opt out.
Opt-outs received through the platform are applied automatically to future messages from that sender. Customers must also honor opt-outs received through other channels within the time required by law.
5. Carrier requirements and A2P 10DLC
Business texting in the United States is subject to carrier rules, including A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration. Customers must provide accurate business information for registration and send only messages consistent with their registered use cases. Carriers may filter, block, or charge for messages independently of LiveIQ.
6. Prohibited campaigns
Spam, deceptive marketing, and campaigns prohibited by the Acceptable Use Policy or carrier rules are not permitted. LiveIQ may reasonably pause or suspend messaging activity that appears unlawful, abusive, or likely to cause carrier enforcement, and will notify the customer where practical.
